Cellular plate beams are our specialty.
Because we fabricate Steel beams exclusively to our customers’ specifications, our cellular beams can be produced to the precise size and shape required, and the holes can be positioned as needed without incurring extra expense. This flexibility in placement can enable the holes to serve multiple functions within the finished structure; for example, the integration of building services such as electrical cabling and air-conditioning within the profile of the beam. A cellular plate beam can therefore produce savings, not only in weight, but also in the floor depth required to accommodate wiring and ducts. This has been shown to be an advantage in buildings such as multi-storey car parks, where a reduced floor depth may allow for an extra storey overall, thus maximising the profitability of the project.
Our long-span cellular plate beams enable commercial buildings to be constructed with the minimum of columns, producing the kind of open interior which is most favoured by prospective end-users, because of the possibilities it offers for changes to the internal layout.
